Roofing Contractor in San Antonio, TX

Free roof inspections with photos for northeast-side homes checking for damage from the September 11, 2026 hail.

On September 11, 2026, a hail storm came through the northeast side of San Antonio. Hail damage to an asphalt roof rarely shows from the driveway: it reads as dark bruises where granules were knocked loose, cracked tabs, and dents in vents and flashing. Plenty of homeowners in that part of Bexar County still do not know whether their roof took a hit, which is why Mike Zhukov is spending this month in San Antonio and why our blue trucks are on northeast-side streets.

The northeast side is not one kind of house. Wilshire Terrace, off the 78218 end of the city, has homes going back to the 1950s. Camelot II in 78239 filled in mostly during the 1970s, and the Woodlake area in 78244 has a lot of houses from the mid-1980s. A roof on one of those homes may be its second or third, and the age of what is up there now matters as much as the storm when you are deciding what to do next.

Our inspection is free. We walk the roof, photograph what we find, and show you the pictures, including drone shots when the roof is too steep or too large to read from a ladder. If there is hail damage, you decide whether to call your insurance company; if there is not, we tell you that too, and you have a dated set of photos of your roof either way.

What San Antonio Homeowners Ask Us For

Hail & Storm Damage

After the September storm, most of our San Antonio calls start here. We look for bruised and cracked shingles, dented ridge vents, pipe boots and gutters, and wind-lifted tabs, and we photograph each one so you can see exactly what we saw.

Free Roof Inspection

An inspection on a 1970s or 1980s northeast-side house covers more than hail: soft decking, worn flashing around chimneys, and old repairs that were patched with mismatched shingles. You get the photos and a plain answer about whether the roof needs work now, later, or not at all.

Insurance Claim Roofing

If you open a claim, it is between you and your insurance company. We provide the inspection photos you can share with them, and when the claim is approved we work from your adjuster’s approved scope so the job matches what was written.

Roof Replacement

Some roofs on the older streets were near the end of their life before the hail ever fell. When replacement is the honest answer, you get a written estimate before any work starts, an asphalt shingle or Class 4 impact-resistant option, and financing on approved credit through a third-party lending partner if you want it.

Everything else we do is on the services page.

Checking Your Roof After the September 11 Hail

Hail marks fade from view as the weeks go by, but the damage underneath does not heal. Granule loss exposes the asphalt mat to the South Texas sun, and a cracked shingle can hold for months before it lets water into the decking. Looking at it this fall, while the storm date is fresh and easy to document, is simpler than tracing a leak back to it next spring.

Signs worth a closer look from the ground: dents in your metal vents or the downspouts, granules collecting at the bottom of the downspouts, dings on a car or patio furniture that sat outside that afternoon, and a neighbor with a roofing crew in the driveway. None of those prove your roof was damaged. A walk on the roof does.

Older Northeast-Side Homes Need a Careful Look

On a house from the 1950s through the 1980s, the roof deck itself is often the story. Generations of reroofing can leave decking that is soft at the eaves or patched in sections, and that only shows once someone is up there walking it. We note it in the photos and on the written estimate, so a surprise does not show up halfway through a tear-off.

Many of these homes also have low-slope sections over a back porch or an added room. Those areas drain differently from the main roof, and they are where we most often find ponding and tired flashing. If your house has one, ask us to look at it while we are already on the roof.

How a San Antonio Job Runs With Us

You call, we set a time, and someone comes out to inspect. After that you get the photos and, if work is needed, a written estimate that says what we will do. Nothing starts until you have agreed to it in writing. Mike stays involved on the jobs, and customers tell us in their reviews that they can reach him and get a straight answer.

When the work is done, we show you the finished roof and send the before-and-after drone photos when we have them, so you can see the whole roof without climbing a ladder. Our San Antonio number is on this page, so the call goes to the team working this side of the state.

Why Northeast San Antonio Homeowners Call Viva Roofing

  • We are here for this storm. Mike is working San Antonio himself this month, so the person who inspects your roof is part of a small, family-owned company, not a crew passing through.
  • You see what we see. Every inspection comes with photos, and drone shots when a roof calls for them, so you can judge the damage yourself.
  • Written estimate first. You know the scope and the price before any shingle comes off, and nothing starts until you sign off on it.
  • 5.0 on Google from 63 reviews. The reviews talk about honesty, responsiveness and no upselling, which is the standard we hold every San Antonio job to.

San Antonio Roofing Questions

Was my part of San Antonio in the September 11, 2026 hail?

The storm hit the northeast side of the city. Being near it does not mean your roof was damaged, and being a few miles away does not mean it was spared. A free inspection with photos is the reliable way to find out.

What does a free roof inspection in San Antonio include?

We walk the roof, photograph hail marks, cracked or lifted shingles, vents, flashing and anything else we find, and show you the photos. When a roof is steep or large we add drone photos. There is no charge for the inspection.

Will you deal with my insurance company for me?

No. The claim is between you and your insurance company, and you are the one who files it. We give you the inspection photos to share with them, and if the claim is approved we work from your adjuster’s approved scope.

My northeast-side house is from the 1970s. Is that a problem?

Not a problem, just something we check. Older homes can have soft or patched decking and low-slope sections over porches or additions. We note anything like that in the photos and on the written estimate before work starts.

Can I finance a new roof in San Antonio if insurance is not involved?

Yes. Financing is available on approved credit through a third-party lending partner. Many San Antonio homeowners pay for their roof themselves, and we give you a written estimate first so you can decide.

Is Viva Roofing a local company?

We are a family-owned Texas roofing company, in business since 2021, with our office in Frisco. Owner Mike Zhukov is working San Antonio himself this fall, and San Antonio calls go to our local San Antonio number.

Mike was responsive and fast. He came back to check on my home after a concerned I had. I got a full roof replacement with class 4 shingles and he answered any questions I had before and after. Now the main part. My roof looks great and he showed me the roof with a drone to show the before and after.
